Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy

Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy is a minimally invasive weight loss surgery where a large portion of the stomach is removed, creating a smaller, sleeve-shaped stomach.

01

POPULARITY

Most Common Bariatric Procedure Performed Worldwide.

PREPARATION BEFORE SURGERY

Pre-surgery diet and supplements. Our nutritionists will guide you every step of the way.

SIDE EFFECTS

Bloating, heartburn, leakage (rare).

SAFETY

Highest rated, with safety standards that at par with international standards. The simple nature of the operation makes it very safe without the potential complications from surgery.

HOW IT WORKS

The new stomach has decreased capacity to hold food and liquid helping reduce the amount of food (and calories) that are consumed. By removing the portion of the stomach (fundus) that produces most of the “hunger hormone”, the surgery has an effect on the metabolism. Decreased hunger, increases fullness, and allows the body to reach and maintain a healthy weight as well as blood sugar control.

BENEFITS

Sustained weightloss, remission/improvement in Diabetes, Hypertension, sleep apnea, fatty liver, high cholesterol, and lower the risk of heart disease and heart failure. It can also help improve PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) and improve fertility.

PROCEDURE

The stomach is freed from organs around it.

Surgical staplers are used to remove 80% of the stomach, making it much smaller sleeve.

PAIN EXPERIENCED

Minimal. You may experience mild difficulty in swallowing after the procedure which usually subsides in 2-3 days.

ADMISSION TIME

Two nights in the hospital followed by a one-month program of integrating back to normal, solid foods.

FOLLOWUP

Lifelong follow-up is recommended on yearly basis. You’re a member of our Family for life.

02

Laparoscopic Mini Gastric Bypass

A simplified, minimally invasive weight loss surgery that reroutes digestion to reduce calorie absorption. Helps achieve significant and sustained weight loss.

POPULARITY

This is a straightforward procedure that produces great long-term results with a relatively simpler and less invasive surgery. Its recently becoming hugely popular in Asia and around the world. It is now second most commonly performed procedure after Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy.

PREPARATION BEFORE SURGERY

Pre-surgery diet and supplements. Our nutritionists will guide you every step of the way.

SIDE EFFECTS

Bloating, heartburn, leakage (rare), marginal ulcer(rare).

FOLLOWUP

Lifelong follow-up is recommended on yearly basis. You’re a member of our Family for life.

HOW IT WORKS

There is mild restriction of food intake but the number of calories the body absorbs is decreased as a result of food bypassing a part of small intestine.

BENEFITS

Sustained weightloss, remission/improvement in Diabetes, Hypertension, sleep apnea, fatty liver, high cholesterol, and lower the risk of heart disease and heart failure. It can also help improve PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) and improve fertility.

This procedure is proven by many studies to be better control over diabetes and in patients with BMI of more than 50.

It is great for revising a failed sleeve or other failed procedure into Mini Gastric Bypass/ One Anastomosis Gastric Bypass.

PROCEDURE

This procedure consists of creating a smaller stomach pouch and attaching the small intestine to the new stomach pouch.

PAIN EXPERIENCED

Minimal.

ADMISSION TIME

Two nights in the hospital followed by a one-month program of integrating back to normal, solid foods.

SAFETY

Highest rated, with safety standards that at par with international standards. The simple nature of the operation makes it very safe without the potential complications from surgery.

Laparoscopic Roux en Y gastric bypass

A minimally invasive surgery that reduces stomach size and reroutes the intestines. Effectively supports weight loss and improves obesity-related conditions.

03

POPULARITY

The Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, often called the “Gastric bypass”, has now been performed for more than 50 years and the laparoscopic approach has been refined since 1993. It is one of the most common operations and considered as GOLD standard of Bariatric surgery. It is very effective in treating obesity and obesity related diseases.

PREPARATION BEFORE SURGERY

Pre-surgery diet and supplements. Our nutritionists will guide you every step of the way.

SIDE EFFECTS

Bloating, heartburn, leakage (rare), small bowel obstruction, marginal ulceration and dumping syndrome (very rare).

SAFETY

Highest rated, with safety standards that at par with international standards. The simple nature of the operation makes it very safe without the potential complications from surgery.

HOW IT WORKS

The gastric bypass works in several ways. The newly created stomach pouch is smaller and able to hold less food, which means fewer calories are ingested. Additionally, the food does not come into contact with the first portion of the small bowel and this results in decreased absorption.

BENEFITS

The impact on hormones and metabolic syndrome often results in improvement of type 2 diabetes mellitus even before any weight loss occurs. The operation also helps patients with reflux (heart burn) and often the symptoms quickly improve.

PROCEDURE

First, the stomach is divided into a smaller top portion (pouch) which is about 20-25 cc. The larger part of the stomach is bypassed and no longer stores or digests food.

The small intestine is also divided and connected to the new stomach pouch to allow food to pass. The small bowel segment which empties the bypassed or larger stomach is connected into the small bowel downstream, resulting in a bowel connection resembling the shape of the letter Y.

Eventually the stomach acids and digestive enzymes from the bypassed stomach and first portion of the small intestine will mix with food that is eaten in distal part.

PAIN EXPERIENCED

Minimal.

ADMISSION TIME

Two nights in the hospital followed by a one-month program of integrating back to normal, solid foods.

FOLLOWUP

REVISIONAL SURGERY

We understand that the need of revising for a failed weightloss surgery is unique and must be approached meticulously. Around 5-15% patients from various surgical procedures can have delayed weight regain. Every case needs to be worked up well to ascertain the cause of weight regain and managed accordingly.

HOW IT WORKS

Suturing stomach from inside decreases its capacity, helps patients feel full faster and consume smaller amounts of food and loose weight.

PROCEDURE

It involves creating a sleeve within the stomach by suturing from inside.

PAIN EXPERIENCED

Minimal as there are no incisions on the abdomen.

ADMISSION TIME

One night admission is required.  Followed by a one-month program of integrating back to normal, solid foods.

FOLLOWUP

Lifelong follow-up is recommended on yearly basis. You’re a member of our Family for life.
